Creative Media Designer

At Cybis, our clients expect total creative communications from one place. Print Designer

The Cybis Print Designer understands the significance of visual branding for an event (or organization) and has the talents to conceptualize and develop a powerful multimedia identity. Video Editor

Our Freelance Video Editor will be our primary source for developing storyboards, editing B-Roll and live-action sequences for many different types of projects.  Only top-notch editors who can create original and eye-popping edits should apply.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualize and edit high-quality promos
  • Work with the Creative Director to develop and elevate the company’s standards in high-end editing
  • Work alongside a team of designers and producers focused on creating stellar audio/visual promotional content
  • Support creative requirements for content; i.e. show opens, vignettes, promos, commercials, etc.
  • Stay current on all promotional/editing trends, productions and software
  • Work in a fast-paced, deadline driven, creative environment

Requirements:

  • Must have experience in television promotion and presentation editing, video production, audio editing and sound effects
  • Qualified candidates must have in-depth knowledge of Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Extensive experience interpreting producer/director ideas and working with design and support staff
  • Experience in green screen keying and compositing
  • Experience with HD and DSLR cameras, sound, and lighting
  • Must be MAC and PC proficient

Vectorworks Drafter

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating floorplans, schematics, and scale drawings for staging, seating, and audiovisual
  • Research venues to confirm rigging requirements
  • Create rigging diagrams and coordinate with riggers
  • Ability to perform CAD design, drafting and other assignments under the direction of the Producer
  • Must be available and able to meet client & company deadlines

Live Event Director

Responsibilities:

Our Cybis Live Event Director will oversee all aspects of the live event. Additionally, s/he will:

  • Lead script read-throughs with entire show team
    • Requires advance preparation including thorough understanding of show/AV plan
  • Call the show while following the script
  • Direct multiple cameras
  • Call together team for all rehearsals and shows
  • Check that all departments are ready to go for rehearsals and shows
  • Coordinate with assistant director that graphics are ready for broadcast
  • Coordinate that audio director has all cues

Assistant Director/Tricaster Operator

Responsibilities:

Our Cybis Assistant Director/Tricaster Operator will support the Director in all aspects of the live event. Additionally, s/he will:

  • Often referred to as "technical director" elsewhere
  • Check all show graphics
  • Record all VIP rehearsals
  • Prepare award namebars
  • Ensure proper recording of show digitally and on tape.
  • Set up TriCaster and ensure that DDRs and monitors are compatible for both Director and Assistant Director
  • Announce countdown times for videos when they are reaching completion.
  • Support video control center setup
  • View and render every graphic prior to any tech rehearsal or show
  • Help run tech rehearsals
  • Check audio and video on digital record decks during rehearsals
  • Make sure AD and director have updated scripts

A Cybis Announcer will travel to several events during the course of the year to announce award winners names live during student leadership organization awards ceremonies. S/He must be able to announce diverse names with accuracy and confidence, read printed scripts loudly and enthusiastically, and occasionally adlib.

Schedule: Freelance, project by project basis.  The Cybis Announcer would attend between 2-3 events a season.

Audio Director/DJ

Responsibilities may include:

  • Creatively mix playlists for powerful productions & award ceremonies, walk-in and walk-out
  • Ensure all music transitions seamlessly during walk-in/out
  • Leads setup, arrangement, and strike of all audio equipment (audio console, microphones, delays, amps, rigging)
  • Controls and monitors sound system/audio quality during live event
  • Must have knowledge of audio signal flow and the ability to troubleshoot
  • Play music increasingly louder through the walk-in

Live Camera Operator

Cybis is a powerhouse creative media and event productions company. Responsibilities:

Our Cybis Live Camera Operator will be at the helm of our IMAG camera during all shows; this is frequently combined with the role of "ThinkBack Editor." Additionally, s/he will:

  • White balance all cameras, working with director/other cam ops
  • Assemble all tripods/cameras during show setup
  • Secure risers, skirting, and stanchions for all camera positions
  • Run cables/video lines from camera to video location
  • Capture all on-stage activities as per the director’s command
  • Maintain smooth operation of camera/tripod during live shows
  • Understand basic camera terms such as “framing,” “headroom,” “iso recording,” etc.
  • Be proactive in obtaining creative and flattering shots for director’s use

In addition to these responsibilities as Camera Operator, our Thinkback Editor will be responsible for attending organization activities during conferences to capture special moments between members and attendees. After capturing these high-quality videos, they will be edited into a three-minute long video to an appropriate soundtrack, which is presented at the closing session. Examples of these videos can be found at www.thinkback.com This requires ability to inspire attendees to be fun/creative on camera. Appropriate editing laptop and experience (preferably Adobe Premiere) required for efficient on-site editing during the conference.

Our Cybis Production Technician would have a comprehensive overall knowledge of live event production for assistance in multiple departments (video, audio, lighting, scenic). Must be able to understand basic production jargon and follow all assigned tasks as instructed by the Show Producer.

Production Technician tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Truss assembly & lighting installation
  • Projection screen assembly
  • Cable path management
  • Video and audio monitor setup
  • Establishing video signal flow
  • Assembling com lines and audio snake
  • Setup of on stage pieces, foliage, pipe & drape, etc.

Additionally, our Cybis Production Technician may be needed to run key auxiliary show specific roles such as robocam operator, center screen projectionist, interactive pre-show manager, etc.

Stage Manager

As Stage Manager, your primary role is to lead & coach the state or national officers and preparing them for their stage performance at their opening & closing sessions.  Based on a script and show flow that Cybis prepares, you would work with a dozen officers / VIP / keynote speakers / etc. to ensure that the show is executed seamlessly, professionally and with enthusiasm!

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assemble scripts for VIPs & Team Cybis
  • Lead all script read throughs with VIPs
  • Teach proper stage & podium etiquette
  • Coordinate stage choreography
  • Manage and maintain all script updates
  • Ensure a positive and memorable event
  • Act as Cybis liaison when meeting VIPs
  • Organize announcer script with producer & announcer
  • Contact client directly for script needs
  • Travel between 2-10 Cybis events per year
  • Communicate with clients and team professionally and enthusiastically
  • Set up and secure backstage area
  • Mark all stairs and handrails with tape
