FBLA alum lands deal to produce national event

Ten years ago, a teenaged Jeff Douglass stepped into his first conference for Florida’s Future Business Leaders of America. Amid 3,000 people, giant video screens and blaring loudspeakers at an Orlando-area hotel, he said to himself, “I would love to do this show.”

Douglass got that chance, starting a business that would produce Florida’s FBLA conference three consecutive years.

This weekend, Douglass’ Cybis Communications Corp. takes a step up, producing the group’s annual National Leadership Conference at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels. Following Friday’s opening ceremony
